Why Purchase a 12’ Trampoline

The Third most popular backyard trampoline is the 12’ one. If you are looking for a mid sized trampoline but don’t have too much space a 12’ trampoline will be a good purchase. The surface area of a 12’ trampoline is approximately 113 square feet, if you compare this to an 8’ trampoline where the surface area is only 50 square feet.

What are the Characteristics of a 12 Foot Trampoline?

A Typical 12' Trampoline with Safety Enclosure12’ trampolines have the following characteristics (although some brands will vary):

38mm steel tubing – The tubing of a 12’ trampoline is typically the same as an 8’ or 10’ trampoline. However the thickness of the steel is sometimes greater to support the frame and also increase the maximum user weight (breaking weight)

7” – 9” springs – Because the trampoline mat is bigger it generally requires bigger and stronger springs

68 - 72 springs – Because the trampoline is physically bigger in size it requires more springs, each spring will be approximately 6-7 inches apart.

Maximum user weight – Between 220 - 250 pounds seems to be the maximum user weight of a 12’ trampoline and this varies from brand to brand, some manufactures offer thicker steel tubing which will allow an extra 50 – 75 pounds of user weight should you need it.

Trampoline weight – Because more steel and other materials are involved in the manufacturing of the trampoline it will weigh more than a 6’, 8’ & 10’ trampoline.
