Square trampolines are commonly used in schools just like rectangle trampolines. The main difference with this type of trampoline compared to any other is the springs, the springs are generallly setup in a criss-cross fashion and appear to be more stable in comparison to the round trampoline, this makes the bounce feel much smoother
Also because the trampoline is square you will have a greater surface area compared to a round trampoline, e.g. a 10' square trampoline will have a bigger sq ft area than a 10' round trampoline will. However square trampolines can be more expensive compared to other types of trampoline but in general are still good value for money.
