What is a Trampoline Cover

Standard trampoline coverA trampoline cover is normally made from nylon as this material is relatively weatherproof. The cover is designed to help keep the top half of the trampoline protected from weathering and debris.

A cover is normally secured to the trampoline by a draw string or sometimes an elastic band that is stitched inside of the cover.

Some trampoline covers are even equipped with several drainage holes, these holes allow rain to run off the cover which means your trampoline won’t become a water tank. If you are looking to purchase a trampoline cover then I recommend one with drainage holes.

Remember, some trampoline covers do not protect the steel legs/frame that hold the trampoline together. Although the steel is galvanised to help prevent rust, the trampoline will last a lot longer if you purchase a complete trampoline cover.

Do I Need a Cover for my Trampoline

Personally if you are going to dismantle the trampoline and store it in a dry area then a cover is generally not required. If you do plan to leave the trampoline outside during the winter months or for extended periods of time then I recommend purchasing a cover, the small price you’ll pay to protect your trampoline is well worth the money.

How Much Can I Expect to Pay

You’ll be happy to know that after the expense of purchasing an outdoor yard trampoline, the cover itself is cheap in comparison. Of course the size of trampoline will make the difference in price. For example an 8' trampoline cover will be cheaper than a 12' cover. As a starting point you can expect to pay between $5 up to $80 for an 8' trampoline cover.

Remember that some manufactures sell covers as additional accessories with their trampolines, and some manufactures offer free covers if you purchase their trampolines.
