A trampoline mat (sometimes referred to as a trampoline bed) is the area of the trampoline that you bounce on. Trampoline mats are usually manufactured from Permatrom polypropylene which makes the mat is very tough and flexible.
The outer circumference of a trampoline mat has galvanized V-rings stitched to it, this allows the mat to connect to the outer frame of the trampoline via springs.
Wear and tear will eventually occur on a trampoline, there are only so many bounces you can get out of a trampoline mat
before it weakens. If you keep the trampoline outside and don’t use a trampoline cover the mat will be exposed to weathering and UV rays which will shorten the lifespan of the mat.
To give you an idea the average trampoline mat should last at least 5 years, if you have a good warranty on your current trampoline that’s a good sign that it may last 10+ years.
Thankfully most suppliers sell replacement mats for outdoor trampolines and if they don’t you can normally buy universal mats, just remember to make note of the following before purchasing a replacement mat:
Mats are commonly the second most expensive part of an outdoor trampoline, the size of the mat you purchase will depend on how much you pay. For example a 10' round trampoline mat expect to pay between $50 up to $125
