What Are Trampoline Pads

A trampoline pad (sometimes referred to as trampoline safety padding) is the pad that surrounds the trampoline. Sometimes people confuse a trampoline pad with a trampoline mat, just to clear this up the mat is the part you bounce on and the padding surrounds the outside covering the springs.

The pad is designed to protect you from the trampoline springs and also help protect the springs from rusting. Unfortunately over time pads wear and will need to be replaced, some manufactures offer extensive warranty (i.e. 10 years or more) on matting, so be sure to look out for this before purchasing your trampoline.

There unbranded replacement trampoline pads that will normally fit all types of outdoor trampoline (including round, square, oval and rectangle trampolines) but always check with the supplier that it will fit your trampoline. Also there appears to be two sorts of padding, the more expensive and better quality option is a polypropylene pad while the cheaper option is usually a fabric based pad.
